remember the white rollercoaster at lagoon? the one that, i swear, is going to collapse as soon as i board.
i have been pondering the intensity of the first and most wonderful 30 seconds of the ride. hearing the clicking of the chains drown out the pounding of my heart. feeling the burden of weight carried by those rotted wood beams like my knee after a run.
sweat beads on my forehead and my palms get clamy while i tell myself i should have watched the others from the pavement that seems so sturdy all of a sudden. reminding myself that most of my great ideas are only great in the conception phase. and at the EXACT same time yearning to let go, raise my arms and enjoy the ride. all while i observe the white paint peeling off the wood.
this is really the moment i have been pondering; the fear and the excitement perfectly married for only an instant. because before i know it i am laughing. not the courtesy laugh offered to a date's joke (lame), but ab burning, tear jerking laughter. and then the ride is over as abruptly as it started.
what really then is the point of $40 spent, and really more because i love churros, if at the end i get in my car and drive away?
the point is those 30 seconds. life cannot always be these 30 seconds, but they make driving 40 minutes behind a mormon asault vehicle, shelling out another $7 to park and waiting in line behind hormone driven teenagers WORTH IT. it is after all the ride.

you are so awesome.
I just want to be remembered as the one who first introduced you to the ride and made you hold your hands high and scream the whole way. Try to forget the yarking, afterwards.
Two m's on clammy.
you went with out me. it is, after all, what i deserve being, after all, the ninny i am.
