time is a funny thing.
7 days from this moment, i get to marry darren for time and eternity. 8 weeks ago, i thought one week seemed like an eternity. now that we are seven short days away from eternity, the days feel more like minutes and i do not know where all the time has gone.
how can leaving home for marriage be bittersweet? i always pictured myself riding off into the sunset with the man of my dreams (thankfully, he is amazing and more than i dreamed!) and that was it. but it is not it. what about leaving home?
i am a home body. always have been. i like to be near my family. i was born and raised in the same home. i spent more nights in rosy's bed than in heidi's because i missed my parents. worse things could be said.
as i prepare to enter the temple, i feel the gravity of responsibility. i want to do it all "right". i want to be a good wife and mother. i can feel the weight. at times when i feel overwhelmed, i look at my family. my sisters, brothers, parents and beyond. their examples, sacrifices. i feel blessed. the saying, "we all drink from wells we do not dig" has gained more meaning to me in the last few weeks as i look back to those who have gone before me and dug deeply, so that i may drink. i want to start digging now that i have drank deeply.
my heart is full. i feel humbled. i feel blesseed. i feel grateful. i am grateful for eternity, because time is a funny thing.
